Cosmetic Plastic Surgery

Plastic in plastic surgery is not connected with synthetic polymer material but it's meaning is to mould or to shape. The word plastic is derived from Greek word plastikos which means to mould or to shape. Cosmetic plastic surgery is a science to improve the physical appearance of the human body. It is a medical speciality which includes techniques to enhance the appearance. Cosmetic plastic surgery is concerned with maintaining normal appearance, or enhancing the appearance beyond the average level.

Cosmetic plastic surgery helps to mould any blemish part of the body. In modern days, people become more concious about their looks. Gone are days when aged look is considered as a sign of wisdom. Few most common or can say accepted plastic surgery procedures include.

Abdominoplasty:
Procedure for reshaping or firming the abdomen.
Blepharoplasty: Reshape the eyelids.
Breast implant: Improve breasts by means of silicone gel prosthetics.
Breast Reduction: Removal of skin to reduce back and shoulder pain in women.

Weight Loss

Weight loss is the medical term is the reduction of body mass due to loss of body fat, lean mass like muscle, tendon. It may be due to an underlying disease or can arise from a conscious effort to improve an actual or perceived overweight or obese state. Intentional weight loss refers to the loss of body mass to improve fitness and health, and to change appearance. Therapeutic weight loss can decrease the likelihood of developing diseases such as heart disease, high blood pressure, stroke, and diabities.

Weight Loss tips:


   - To reduce weight, select a balancing diet which help to lose some of your weight.
   - Eat fruits and vegetables every day.
   - Never skip meals.
   - Do regular exercise and keep fit.
   - Drink plenty of water.
   - Eat when you feel hungry only.
   - Don't be too strict to your weight loss treatment.


Hair Loss

Hair loss is the state of lacking of hair on the head. It ranges from male and female pattern alopecia which involves the loss of some of the hair from the head. It is assumed that the normal cycle of hair growth is 2 to 3 years. Each hair has grown approx. 1 centimeter per month and shedding of hair each day is normal process of this cycle. Hair loss can affect men, women and children.

Why hair loss?
There are number of things that can cause excessive hair fall like after major surgery or seriou illness. Another reason may be harmones problem, if thyroid gland is overactive, then there may be chance of hair fall out. If androgens and estrogens of a person either maleor female are out of balance, hair loss may occur. Many women notice hair loss after they've have a baby

This is due to problem of hormones. Sometimes, a medicine can cause hair loss in the form of side effect. But it can be stopped when you stop taking the medicine. Few medicines that can cause hair loss include medicines used for gout, high blood pressure or heart problems etc. Few infections can also cause hair fall. In children, fungal infections of the scalp can cause hair loss. By taking antifungal medicine, it is easy to stop this type of hair fall.

In short, we san say that hair loss occur as part of an underlying disease. So it is important to know the cause so that it can be treated at its earlier stage.

Snoring

Snoring is the vibrational condition in the respiratory structure and produce the sound results, it is because of blocking in the path of breathing while sleeping situation. In general cases the snores having soft sound but there are some other cases where the sound can be very disturbing and more unpleasant. The irregular airflow is due to a blockage and usually caused by one of the following:

    -Throat weakness, produce the causes for throat to close during sleeping
    -Mispositioned jaw, often due to by deep tension in the muscles
    -Fat gathering in and around the throat
    -Obstruction in the nasal passageway


Statistics on snoring are often contradictory, but minimum 30% of adults and perhaps 50% of people in some demographics snore. In case of 5713 Italian residents identified habitual snoring in 24% of men and 13.8% of women, scoring to 60% of men and 40% of women having age of 60 to 65 years; it suggests an increased susceptibility to snoring as age increases.

Kidney Health | Kidney Disease | Kidney Failure

Kidney failure is the situation in which the kidney fails to work properly. kidney failure has a large number of causes which may be serious as well as non serious.

There are two kidneys in the human body and both have the same function. Even when one kidney becomes dead caused by something then the routine functions of the body are not much disturbed. The problem arises when there are some irregularities in the only left kidney.

When the other kidney also fails, the person usually dies or gets treated on a dialysis machine where his blood and water in the body gets purified. Kidney transplant is not that difficult operation but finding a correct donor is.

It is also illegal to buy someones kidney. Diabetes is also a kidney related disease. It also cannot be cured but it can be controlled by the regular use of insulin. Kidney can also be very easily damaged by some physical injury to the body as it is not protected by any bone. To keep the kidney healthy the person should drink lots of water so there is no concentrated toxic waste and go for regular medical check ups.

Hiv | AIDS

HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) cannot decided to be a disease but it is rather a situation in which all the white blood cells of the body are destroyed. White blood cells are the immune system of the body which protects it from the outside diseases. Once when the white blood cells are no more in the body then the body becomes open to all the diseases. A person suffering from HIV will get seriously ill even if he gets cold as his body will not fight against the virus of the cold. This disease has no cure till date.

HIV spreads through one infected person to another by the means of unprotected sexual intercourse, by a mother to its child, by HIV infected blood needles. This deadly virus after sometime transforms into AIDS after, in which the person dies eventually. This deadly disease cannot be cured but it can be prevented by taking some preventive measures so one has to be careful. In the present times this virus has spread like fire and has started to cause the maximum number of deaths in underdeveloped countries.

Cardiac or Heart Diseases

Heart diseases consists of many diseases that damage the heart and all of them are very deadly. The heart diseases consists of coronary heart disease, cardiovascular problems, hypertensive heart disease, heart failure etc.

Heart is the most important part for the proper working of our body as it pumps blood which carries oxygen to all other parts, so if any problem arises then it can prove to be deadly. The heart should always be taken care of and all the ill habits of the humans should be controlled. Man should limit the intake of fried food, he should avoid cigarette smoking, try to live in a clean environment whenever possible.

As in the case of heart failure the person dies, but now the medical faculty uses the heart transplant operation to save the person. Heart diseases is the reason which causes the maximum number of deaths in the United States and United Kingdom.

Most of the diseases in the heart can be operated upon but in most cases it usually takes long time to take the patient to the doctor so he passes away. similar is the case in poor countries where the poor can't afford the cost and hospitals are generally overcrowded.

To avoid or minimize Heart related diseases, ensure a healthy lifestyle.

Depression

Depression is a disease which can be said to be more psychological than physical. it is a level of mood of a person suffering from severe sadness or helplessness. Depression is not only limited to sadness or helplessness, but it also includes anger, grief, anxiety, guilt, despair apathy and fear. The symptoms may vary from person to person.

The main reason that can be said to cause depression is stress in ones life. Depression is not being in the state of mental disorder but it is a state of remaining confused and sad.

This is a serious disease and if not treated properly it can lead the patient to take the extreme step of suicide. Depression can be treated by the ways of medicines and mental exercise. It is recommended to use various meditation exercises.

The reason one becomes depressed can be his genetic problem or the events going on in his life, the environment he is living in or is brought up in, by the use of some strong medicines that may have various side effects. This disease does not have any fixed period but the patient may remain depressed for weeks, months, or sometimes even their whole lifetime.

Diabetes

Diabetes is a disease of disordered metabolism, usually due to hereditary, resulting in high blood sugar level of the patient. Blood sugar levels are controlled mostly by the chemical in the body known as insulin. The technical name of this disease is diabetes mellitus. This usually happens due to problems in insulin secretion or insulin action.

All the forms are treatable as insulin is now available medically in every corner of the world but there is no permanent cure of this disease.

This disease can cause various complications like hypoglycemia, blindness, permanent nerve damage and poor wound healing especially in the foot causing gangrene.

Once this disease goes out of hands it may even lead to amputation in adults. The patients are required to control on their sweet tooth and decrease their intake of sweet stuff accordingly. The patients are also required to check their blood sugar level everyday and take necessary steps if it is found above the danger level. They are also required to keep insulin with them so in the times of emergency they can immediately consume it.

A person should get checked if he or she has got diabetes or not because this is a silent disease and in most of the cases the patient comes to know at a very late stage of the illness.

Cholesterol

Cholesterol is a waxy and lipidic alcohol found in the cell membrane and transport in the blood plasma of all human being. It is a vital component of mammalian cell membranes where its necessity to establish proper membrane permeability and fluidity. Cholesterol is the principal sterol synthesized by animals, but small quantities are synthesized in other leukocytes like plants and fungi. It is almost completely absent among prokaryotes, which include bacteria. Cholesterol is denoted as sterol cholesterol is very harmful for the body. especially heart and close by organs.

How do Cholesterol Problems occur ?

Some foods like egg yolk and fatty meat are very rich in cholesterol. Big eaters of these foods having very high cholesterol level. However some kinds of animal fat will help to raise the cholesterol level. People who are overweight, have diabetes, eat lots of sweets and fried food, or drink too much alcohol tend to get high triglyceride levels. These are somewhat less dangerous to the arteries, but still quite harmful.

What causes high cholesterol?

There are several issues that may contribute to high blood cholesterol:

   - a diet having more saturated fat and high amount of cholesterol.
   -  lack of exercise produce bad impact on raising LDL cholesterol and decreasing HDL cholesterol.
   - family history - people are at a higher risk of high cholesterol if they have a direct male relative aged under 55 or a female relative aged under 65 affected by heart disease.
   -  being overweight, which may increase LDL cholesterol and decrease HDL cholesterol.
  - age cholesterol generally rises with increasing age and this type of cholesterol occurs more in men as compared to women
   - drinking more than the recommended amount of alcohol like more than three to four units per day for men and two to three units per day for women.

Asthma

Asthma is a major chronic disease including the respiratory system which enclosed the airways constrict, become more inflamed and are covered with major amounts of mucus, often in response to more triggers.
 
These parts may be triggered by these kind of things as open to an environmental stimulants like as an allergen, environmental tobacco smoke, cold or warm air, perfume, pet dander, moist air, exercise or exertion, or emotional stress
 
The very common triggers found in children are viral illnesses so that these cause the common cold. This airway narrowing create causes or symptoms such as wheezing, chest tightness, shortness of breath and coughing. The airway constriction responds to bronchodilators. Between these episodes, most patients feel comfertable but can have mild symptoms and they may remain short of breath after any exercise for long period of time than the unaffected individuals
 
The symptoms of asthma which are in mild to life threatening range, can usually be controlled with a collection of drugs and natural environmental changes.

Asthma signs and symptoms include:


    Breath shortness
    Chest tightness condition and pain
    Sleeping during trouble occured by shortness of breath, coughing or wheezing
    An audible whistling or wheezing sound when exhaling
    Bouts of coughing or wheezing that are worsened by a respiratory virus such as a cold or the flu

Signs that your asthma is probably getting worse include

    An increase in the severity and frequency of asthma signs and symptoms
    A fall in peak flow rates is measured with the help of peak flow meter, it is a simple device which is used to check how properly your lungs are working
    An increased need to use bronchodilators — medications that open up airways by relaxing the surrounding muscles.

Anxiety Disorder

Anxiety is a psychological and physiological state of a person. Anxiety comes with a feeling of uneasiness, worrying a lot and having a lot off tension.

It is not a disease or an illness but it is an uncontrollable mood of a human being which comes due to immense pressure or unknown fear. The main reason of a person being anxious can be stress of something. Anxiety is not at all bad for health but instead it gives a person sufficient energy or the courage to face something or complete a pending work, but when anxiety becomes excessive and goes out of hand then it’s called anxiety disorder which needs to be dealt by an experienced doctor to avoid any problems. This cannot be classified to be a serious problem but can be easily handled by a good doctor.

Symptoms – anxiety could be happening when there is nausea, shortness of breath, stomach aches or chest pain to a person. When anxiety happens usually a person gets panic attacks. A person having a panic attack feels like he’s dying or passing out. It is often confused with a heart attack. A sufferer from panic attack starts sweating a lot. Not all anxiety sufferers get panic attacks but they come without warning and the sufferer seems as if he is going to pass out.

To avoid anxiety a person can avoid caffeine, colas etc. Also avoid smoking or stop use of any other drugs which are not prescribed by the doctor. Do some light physical exercise everyday so your body can stay fit and your mind can stay calm. Yoga is one of the best method to getrid of anxiety disorder.

Alcohol Abuse

It is known that alcohol has been a gift to humans since the written history began. Its use can stimulate the nerves of a person and make him forget all his miseries and pains for sometime. It is now even used by doctors to give it to their patients as prescriptions as a remedy for many diseases or illness. It does not have any ill effects if its consumed quantity is controlled.

But the problem now is that due to easy availablity, more and more people become curious to consume it and then get addicted to it. Once a person gets alcohol addiction it becomes very difficult for him to stop drinking it. Even though the countries have put an restriction on its consumption by raising the legal drinking age but still  more and more curious teenagers want to experience it and as they are not mature enough so they get badly addicted to it.

With excess consumption of alcohol a person can damage his liver severely which becomes beyond curable. Alcohol addiction can turn mans mind towards crime so he can get his regular alcohol. When a person is in inebriated condition he has almost no control on himself physically and mentally so this is bound to make him lewd and also when he is totally drunk his brain becomes extra sensitive emotionally so he may at one time get very friendly and at the other very angry.

There are various alcohol de-addiction centers which are found abundantly where the medical staff tries to help the patient mentally and physically. The government of various countries try to discourage people from drinking alcohol by charging various taxes which increases the cost of the drink.

Headache or Migraine

Complaint of the people in the whole world. The most common causes of headache is stress and tension, eye strain, migraine, low blood sugar and a lot of pressure in life or having an injury in the head by being knocked out. The most famous medicine all over the world to relieve a headache is a tablet of aspirin. Though most of the headaches are not at all harmful or injurious but getting continuous headache may be a sign of some serious problem and a qualified doctor should be consulted immediately. All human beings have a headache once in their lifetime. Extremely high blood pressure can also be another reason for severe headaches which also are a cause for concern.

 All headaches don’t need medical attention but can be easily relieved by a simple aspirin. Spas and various oil massages are also a good way to cure headaches. Mostly the doctors discourage the use of strong drugs in most of the diseases where it is unnecessary so the patient does not have headaches due to illness or rebound headaches due to leaving the medicine.
